About Tigray Monitor

Tigray Monitor is an independent, non-partisan platform documenting armed conflict, civilian impact, humanitarian conditions and accountability across Ethiopia, with in-depth coverage of Tigray. It exists so that the public record is built from evidence rather than from any side’s narrative.

Principles

• Evidence-based. Every published claim links to its source, retrieval time and content hash.
• People-centered. Civilian harm, displacement and humanitarian access come first.
• Transparent. Our methodology and reviewer actions are public.
• Independent. An event in Amhara, Oromia or Tigray goes through exactly the same pipeline.

Name and scope

The platform is Ethiopia-wide by design. Tigray is the primary editorial focus and the reference template for every regional situation room, including the Pretoria Agreement tracker and historical context. The name reflects that focus without encoding a political position.

Published incidents are available as GeoJSON from the data page. The platform is built as an open evidence pipeline: source, claim, evidence, corroboration, verification, publication.
